French Alps Tourism - Travel to French Alps
The French Alps are known for skiing and mountaineering, but there are much more than that. There are many lakes where including the Lake of Geneva, Lake of Annecy and Lake of Bourget where numerous water sports are possible.
Famous resorts include Chamonix, Annecy with its old city, Grenoble where the Olympic Games took place in 1968.
The French Alps have also great many restaurants and is especially famous for its numerous varities of cheese.

Getting there
The French Alps are well connected to the rest of the country. It has an international airport nearby in Lyon and every cities has a direct TGV (fast train) to Paris. Many towns are also connected by TGV or ordinary trains. There are also highways in many valleys. There is also the international airport of Geneva (Switzerland) nearby.
