Nordic countries Tourism - Travel to Nordic countries
The Nordic countries are Scandinavia (Sweden, Norway and Denmark) plus Finland and Iceland.
Note: The term the Nordic countries has a different meaning from the Scandinavian countries as it includes Finland and Iceland. The Finno-Ugric language of Finland is entirely unrelated to Scandinavian language, although most people in Finland also speak Swedish, as Finland was formerly a Swedish colony. The language of Iceland is actually Old Norse (spoken in Scandinavia 1000 years ago and also closely related to Old English). Iceland was a Norwegian and then Danish colony until 1944.
